Summer Articulation practice You've worked hard on your speech all year! To help you maintain your skills, you can review the 'done' worksheets in your speech folder. If you've lost your worksheets, try some of the following activities:
Create a 'speech box'. Get a box that allows you to fit your hand into the box. A bag can also work well. Find things around the house that have your speech sound and place them in the box. You can also use magazine pictures, cards, clip art pictures, etc. Place your objects in the box. Each day use your speech box to practice. You may do the following:
1) Describe an item and have a friend guess what it is.
2) Pull objects and say a sentence about them.
3) Hide objects around the room and describe to a friend where to find them
4) Try to name all the items in the box without looking at them.
5) Use your imagination to think of other ways to practice.
6) Have FUN!
Summer Carryover practice 1) Practice your sound while playing board games.
2) Practice your sound while reading aloud.
3) Use your 'done' speech homework pages for review.
4) In the car, quietly read signs you see.
5) Practice your speech through one entire meal.
6) Use a tape recorder to practice.
7) Try to talk for five minutes with no errors.
8) Practice on the phone.
9) Order in a restaurant and try to make no errors.
10)Have FUN!
