Home Activities-Celebrate Fall

• Gross-Motor:
  1. Balloon Monster Mash game. Children draw a monster face on a balloon. The balloons are then tied to their ankles. On 'go' kids try to stomp on the other monsters while protecting their own. Last monster standing wins! 2. Monster charades. 3. Rake leaves together.



• Fine-Motor/Handwriting
  1. Decorate holiday/party cookies together (they now make icing pens that work very well). 2. make invitations/place cards for holiday/party get togethers. Younger kids can make simpler designs with fingerprint/thumbprint (pumpkins,turkeys, bats...).



• Oral-Motor
  With a straw, have kids suck up leaves/feathers and put them in a cup in a fun collecting game.



• Self-Help Skills
  Make a scarecrow by stuffing an old flannel shirt and pants with newspaper or straw. Make sure the kids do the buttons, zippers, belt...
